Torkil Veyhe: A race I decidedly cursed far away.

A race I decidedly cursed far away

When it started its life on the back of a MTB in Faroese street races, there is a long way to run DCU Cup for one of the world's leading continental teams, not less is the way Torkil Veyhe taken and he is now ready to do this season to another impressive step on the journey.

My overall goal is to be better than last year :) There are some races that fit me well here in the first half of the season and I hope to do well in, including Normadiet, Loir et Cher, Tour of Norway, GP Horsens and DM.

Team Virtu and Veyhe's first national goal is the first part of DCU Cup Grand Prix Volkswagen Herning. Despite the course is no longer part of the selection process to Denmark around it is still an important showcase for the home fans and sponsors.

From the day I moved to Denmark, Grand Prix Volkswagen Herning been a race we've talked about in the bicycle field.

So I quickly got the impression that it was a race that was something special here in Denmark.

The race is particularly notorious for its total of 28 km. Gravel way Pave'er as any love and others hate

I remember in the beginning when I had just moved up to the A class, and going out to fight with the big boys on gravel roads, then it was a race I feared a race I decidedly cursing far away, but out of respect for the race and the prestige it has, I chose anyway always do.

I am very happy today because I over the years, probably as the one has greater profit of the popes, have come to love the race.

For Team Virtu Cycling started it all in Herning and as arising from Herning CK, the city is still a home for the team, which now has its base in Horsens.

I am really looking forward to running the course again this year and look forward to come up with a strong team from Team Virtu Cycling and fight for the win.

You can feel that all the riders a little extra on the day and all provide just the extra.

Last year drove Torkil Veyhe for coloQuick - CULT and made her hither to best resultet as number six just 4 seconds after Michael Carbel from Team Veloconcept (Today Team Virtu. Ed.) If you are lucky enough to be free of defects and hand in finals, so you also sense the unique atmosphere that is around the course and one filled with pride when everything is over.

I got good support from my former team and just had to take good care of myself.

The plan was to open the course early, by attacking from long range.

We come along in a really good group, where most teams are represented, but Guldhammer puncture unfortunately and Virtu therefore choose to drive us back in, which succeeds just before the rounds start.

The field is greatly reduced at the time and there will be some attack to open the final. I come back off with five others, but can feel that power is about to run out after sitting out front.

Riwal and Virtu sides also in the majority, so when they start to attack in turn, it becomes difficult to handle.

With a new team that has the habit to dominate Grand Prix Volkswagen Herning, has Torkil Veyhe belief that last year outnumbered can be changed to keep cool and hopefully that he is again in the final.

Grand Prix Volkswagen Herning is as I said a very prestigious races on the domestic scene and therefore it is also a race we are definitely going to run to win.

We are a very strong team, so it becomes one or the other is going to side in the final, so I believe we have a good chance.

But since it is one of the events fit me well, I hope of course that's me comes first over the line, adds Veyhe with a boldly smile.

For me it would be best if it will be a really tough race.

It should like to begin to happen separation early so people get labeled towards the final.

If the weather plays a trick, I think certainly it is not a disadvantage for me because that in itself will make the race harder.
